ABOUT 1660 TO ABOUT 1731

Isaac Lefevre was born about 1660. According to A.D. Chidsey Jr., in his "A

Frontier Village�Pre-Revolutionary Easton (.Pennsylvania)," this branch of

Lefevres were French Huguenots driven from France at the time of the persecu-

tion of the Protestants. They settled first in Holland before immigrating to

America. In 1683, Isaac Lefevre appears to have settled first in or near New

York City. He took the oath of allegiance in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1687. Isaac died

about 1731, probably in New Jersey.

Isaac Lefevre married first in 1685 to Janneken Boudounck. She may have

died following the birth of their son Abraham. Isaac m.2) June 23, 1689 to

Wyntje, dau of Myndert Korten of New Utrecht. At least 1 son by each Wife-

1, Abraham Lefevre, bpt July 3, 1687; d. about 1743 (see below)

2. Myndert Lefevre, m. Nov 2, 1714 in Dutch Reformed Church, New York City,

to Catharina Van Blarcun. At that time, Myndert was living in Bergen Co'

New Jersey. In 1731 he advertised his father's farm for sale, between Per'th

Amboy and New Brunswick.

Note: There were at least 3 other Isaac Lefevres in America at the same time

One settled in Manakin, Virginia in 1699. The second Isaac settled in Lancaster

Co., Pennsylvania in 1712. The third Isaac was a son of Simon Lefevre who set-

tled in Esopus, New York, between 1662 and 1665.
